🔹 The Case — A Shocking Discovery Under Metro Pillar
On October 20, 2025, a disturbing call reached the Keshav Puram Police Station reporting that a man was lying tied with a scarf and bleeding heavily near Metro Pillar No. 220–221, JJ Colony, Wazirpur. The man was found beside a Canter truck bearing registration number DL1LAC-7224.
Police teams rushed to the scene immediately and discovered a horrifying sight — the man was hanging by a chunni tied to the truck, his head smashed with repeated blows from a brick.
The victim was rushed to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
He was later identified as Dayakishan, son of Ramcharan, resident of K-333, JJ Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi.
The brutal nature of the crime and the lack of direct clues made it a classic blind murder case, prompting the police to form a special investigation team.

🔹 Investigation Begins — Forming a Specialized Team
Recognizing the sensitivity of the case, DCP North-West District Bhishm Singh (IPS) ordered a specialized investigation unit to be formed at Keshav Puram Police Station.
The team comprised —
- Inspector Yunus Javed,
- SI Harish Hooda,
- HC Mohit Sharma,
- HC Sanjeev, and
- HC Ramesh.
The case was supervised by ACP/FR Satender Kumar (SHO/Keshav Puram) and under overall monitoring of ACP/Ashok Vihar Akash Rawat.
Each officer was briefed with precise responsibilities — from examining forensic details to tracking local leads and analyzing CCTV footage — ensuring that no angle of the investigation was overlooked.
🔹 The Crime Scene — Forensic Clues and Challenges
The crime scene was meticulously examined by the forensic team.
Among the recovered items were:
- A blood-stained brick,
- A scarf (chunni) used to tie the victim,
- Blood marks around the truck area, and
- Footprints and drag marks nearby.
These physical evidences were collected, photographed, and sent for forensic analysis.
The absence of eyewitnesses posed a major hurdle. The police relied on digital evidence — scanning CCTV cameras from nearby markets, metro pillars, and bylanes of JJ Colony to track any suspicious movements during the night of the incident.
🔹 CCTV and Local Inquiry Lead to a Breakthrough
While analyzing the footage, the team noticed the victim wandering in an inebriated condition late at night. He was seen interacting briefly with another young man near a tea stall close to the crime location.
Investigators interviewed several local residents and shopkeepers.
During these inquiries, a crucial lead emerged — a man named Amit alias “Pawa” was seen roaming near the same area shortly before the murder.
Locals described him as short-tempered and often drunk, known to pick fights in the colony.
Using this input and technical surveillance, police began tracing Amit’s movement. After several raids, the suspect was finally nabbed near Prembari Pul, Railway Line, Wazirpur, on October 28, 2025.
🔹 Interrogation — The Chilling Confession
During sustained interrogation, Amit alias Pawa confessed to the murder.
He revealed that he was heavily drunk on the night of the incident and was frustrated with his personal life.
In his intoxicated state, he encountered Dayakishan, who was also drunk and wandering aimlessly.
Amit told police he wanted to “do something big” — a phrase he used repeatedly during questioning, suggesting a desire for recognition and infamy.
In a fit of rage, he attacked the victim, tied him to a nearby truck using a chunni, and smashed his head multiple times with a brick, killing him on the spot.
He then fled the scene, leaving the body tied beside the vehicle.
🔹 Evidence and Recovery
At Amit’s instance, police recovered:
- The wallet of the deceased, containing his Aadhaar card, PAN card, and personal documents;
- The scarf (chunni) used in the murder;
- The blood-stained clothes worn by the accused during the crime.
These items were sealed and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination. The forensic analysis later confirmed traces of human blood on the clothes and scarf, matching the victim’s DNA profile.
🔹 Profile of the Accused
Name: Amit alias Pawa
Father’s Name: Late Laxmi
Age: 20 years
Address: JJ Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi
Occupation: Unemployed
Addiction: Chronic alcohol dependence
Criminal History: First-time offender
Police said Amit was known in the neighborhood as a habitual drinker and would often pick fights after consuming alcohol.
He was reportedly influenced by crime shows and stories, and had developed a “thrill-seeking” mindset.
🔹 Statements from Senior Officers
DCP North-West District Bhishm Singh (IPS) lauded the efforts of the team and said —
“The Keshav Puram police team has displayed exemplary professionalism in solving a blind murder case within a short span. ACP Akash Rawat also emphasized the importance of coordination and fieldwork, stating that even in the absence of eyewitnesses, scientific investigation and dedicated teamwork led to success.
🔹 Public Reaction — Fear and Relief
The heinous nature of the crime sent shockwaves through the local community.
Residents of JJ Colony expressed horror at the brutality and relief after hearing that the culprit had been caught.
A shopkeeper near the crime scene told our team —
“We were terrified when we saw police and the dead body that night. Everyone thought it was a gang killing, but the police handled it professionally and caught the killer quickly.”

The swift resolution of the case has restored confidence among the local residents and strengthened their faith in Delhi Police.
🔹 Psychological Angle — Crime Under Influence
Experts consulted by police suggested that the accused’s behavior reflected impulsive aggression linked to alcohol dependency.
His statement “I wanted to do something big” shows a psychological craving for attention and validation, which, under intoxication, transformed into violent behavior.
Delhi Police has also recommended a rehabilitation assessment for the accused during judicial proceedings.
🔹 Forensic Role and Legal Course Ahead
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is currently examining the recovered scarf, brick, and clothing for blood group matching and DNA profiling.
Legal proceedings under Section 103(1) BNS are ongoing, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
Investigators are verifying whether the accused had prior behavioral issues or involvement in similar violent acts.
🔹 Conclusion — Precision Policing and Public Safety
The Keshav Puram police team’s success in solving this blind murder within days is a reflection of Delhi Police’s efficient investigative strategy.
Despite having no eyewitnesses, no direct clue, and a crime scene with minimal evidence, the team combined forensic science, field intelligence, and persistence to crack the case.
This case underscores that swift and scientific policing can expose even the most obscure crimes.
Under the leadership of DCP Bhishm Singh (IPS) and the direction of ACP Akash Rawat, the North-West District Police continues to reinforce the message —
“Crime may hide, but it cannot escape justice.”
